The new Park,Hwa Young Music Hall was a perfect opportunity to express the school’s prowess and cultural contributions. The new hall was envisioned as emblematic building that would represent Hanyang’s School of Music. Thus, the design proposes a symbolic and artistic massing. The challenge was to link education and performance programs together; while it remaining independent and yet functioning properly as a whole. In considering the natural flow of the end-users movement starting from+46.5 level. There are several intermittent connecting points vertically. For instance, the concert hall is a distinctively expressed space that becomes part of the performing arts program. While serving as a venue for two different type of activity. The acoustics required more planning to provide the most optimal experience for the audience. Along with abovementioned technical challenges and design goals. The expectation of the proposed design is great in hoping that new Park, Hwa Young Music Hall will be the preeminent performing arts facility further representing the university.
