Urban Plateau “Let the city to park, park to the city” Wonju Innovation city at Gangwon-do has many public institutions, private enterprises, educational institutions in their city and are work very closely together to improve themselves. And the city is also at the stage of about to jump into futuristic city with its surrounding beautiful scenery and that of Chiak Mountain. Planning concept for this new Complex Innovation Center is more focused on the spaces for the user, not for the basis of the develop oriented plan itself. These spaces for the user shall be designed on which it can expedite and promote various human activities. Planning of this Urban Plateau begins with consideration on how to understand this specific site conditions for the building which is located at the connection point between city and surrounding green area. We came to understand that the open space which is created through inflow of these two direction can be the medium for expansion of “the City to Park, Park to the City”. Finally, we came to understand that this space can be a building which contains the life of the citizen. This Urban Plateau works as a plane which connects the city and greens outside and also connects various programs of the complex innovation center 3 dimensionally. While each program, such as Swimming Pool, Cultural Center, sales support facilities for Social Economic system are keeping their own independency, they also connects each other through three dimensional flows and visibilities. It means they are keeping flexible boundaries. Planners expect this Urban Plateau would be a warm and decent place for the new settler to this new city.
