TITLE: ELE

We try to make a good impression of ourselves in order to achieve the good outlook from the social.
This condition makes us become less in being ourselves and starting to lose our own identity.
This also causes us to do or even sacrifice anything in order to gain a good outlook and a good appearance.

As people tend to identify one another by only their appearances ? we are starting to realize that we are concerning too much on an identity, and it has become the main issue.

This condition makes us concern about an elevator as because when the users use the elevator it creates the feeling of not being themselves and feel the anxiety. This condition is caused by the user’s too much concern on the identity.

To remove the outside appearance in order to create each user’s own individual space the shell is created to wrap the user, and give them protection by adding light effect to bring out the outer skin. This would make the user ignore the fact of being the same.

FUNCTION
The concept depends on the emotion of the space within the elevator in order to communicate to the user that by being yourself, sometimes it could be more innovative.

EXTERIOR
Therefore, we have designed the elevator core as an unstable form which itself could be transformed by its own.

ENTRANCE
The idea is to show the elevator’s status via using colours in the button-panel indicator. Also, we have solved the circulation in front of the elevator, by separate the button-panel further away from the elevator ? this provides more space in the front and avoid user to be crowded.

INTERIOR
To create each user’s personal space by “wrapping” him/her up with dotted light projected by the laser beam to indicate the outline figure of the user.

If everyone is in the stage of being non-identity, the user would realize that the appearance does not matter at all as what really count is our inner self.
